The Directors of the Company have all been Fire Engineers within a Metropolitan Fire and Rescue Service meaning we totally understand how to engineer a building in such a way as to satisfy the statutory requirements of the Building Regulations 2010.

David was awarded an MBE in the New Years honours list 2016, for services to Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service and the Children’s Burns Foundation. He holds a 1st class Honours Degree in Fire Engineering and is a Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers. He retired from the fire service in May 2015 and for the last 14 years of service he was a Fire Safety Enforcement Officer and lead Fire Engineer for Manchester. David has gained qualifications in all Fire Safety modules and courses run by the National Fire Service College and attended numerous Fire Safety courses conducted by the Fire Service.
David has audited premises and inspected Fire Risk Assessments in all types of premises that the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 governs. David was the lead Fire Safety Officer for one of the largest shopping malls in Europe (Trafford Centre), Manchester University sites, Manchester International Airport, several hospitals, and many historical heritage buildings. David specialises in undertaking complex Fire Engineering Strategies, Fire Risk Assessments, frequently advises and consults on Building Regulation Submissions and has headed a large number of significant Fire Engineering Projects.
Lee holds a 1st Class Honours Degree in Fire Safety Engineering and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Prior to being a Director of SPL Fire Engineering, he was an Officer in Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service where he was the Fire Engineering Manager.
He has worked as a Fire Safety Enforcement Officer and Fire Engineering consultant. Lee has gained qualifications in all the Fire Safety courses run by the National Fire Service College, is a section 19 & 25 explosives consultant and holds a NEBOSH and IOSH qualification in Health and Safety.
Lee specialises in complex fire strategies and also consulting with the Fire Service on behalf of the client. He has been the major fire engineering consultant for a number of high profile projects working on buildings for Sky and BMW. He has also carried out complex fire risk reviews for Kier, Vinci and IHP.
